Supervision for Associate Clinicians (APCC, AMFT, ASW*)

My approach integrates clinical integrity, curiosity, self-awareness, systems thinking, and relational depth while also emphasizing ethical responsibility, accountability, and sustainable practice habits that protect both the clinician and the clients they serve

My ultimate goal is to sustain a meaningful professional relationship that contributes to your growth, success, confidence, and trust as you define your own therapeutic identity.

More About Supervision with Laura

I strive to create a space where associates can think critically, ask questions openly, explore uncertainty without shame, and deepen their ability to conceptualize clients beyond surface-level symptom management.

I aim to empower associate clinicians to learn & to trust their own clinical judgment as we dive deeper into case conceptualizations - exploring self-of-therapist & countertransference aspects of our work, identifying & strengthening passion points or areas of growth, approaching our work with compassionate curiosity, and deconstructing/challenging ‘norms’ that contribute to how we provide care to those in need.

I offer a space that allows for my associates to practice vulnerability, resiliency-building, and corrective experiences without judgment. I embrace a relational, collaborative support strategy.

My clinical training, practice & approach is liberation-oriented & trauma-focused as a whole, integratively incorporating:

  • Sociology, neurobiology, psychopharmacology, somatic/physiology, & anthropology in order to more fully understand the human experience(s)

  • Parts work (IFS/ITR/EST) & systemic modalities to inform conceptualization & intervention strategies

  • Attachment, psychodynamic, generational & cultural histories to understand people-in-context, relationships, and collective impacts on both trauma and healing.

Best fit for Supervision with Laura:

  • Associates seeking supervision from a relational, integrative, and collaborative supervisor

  • Guidance from a place of empowerment and humanity, rather than rigid intervention-heavy and/or prescribed ‘this is how I do it and how you need to do it” directives - I want to instead meet you where you feel called to go & build from there.

  • Associates looking to build upon their existing skills in order to transition their work from symptom management into deeper, process-oriented approaches

  • Associates passionate about or motivated to specialize in liberation oriented, integrative trauma-focused frameworks

  • Associates with a desire to learn or bolster their knowledge of parts work, relational rapport, trust building, systems-theory, anti-oppressive, and ‘bottom-up’ approaches to expand their formal ‘talk therapy’ training

  • Associates hoping to build confidence & demystify important intersectional topics in the therapy room - race, gender, sex, infidelity, nonmonogamy, kink, crime, money, politics, body size bias

  • Associates hoping to have a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore & refine their own individuated style and strategies to the healing work that fits for them

*Associate Social Workers: While I practice from a relational, systems-oriented, and advocacy approach alongside the LCSW code of ethics - I hold an LPCC license. According to BBS ASW guidelines: at least 1,700 of your 3,000 hours, along 13 weeks of your 52 total weeks, must be obtained by an LCSW supervisor. If you already have had 1,700 hours and 13 weeks under your belt with an LCSW supervisor, I would love to hear from you.

Working with Laura as my mentor since grad school has been foundational in shaping how I show up for my clients as a clinician. Her compassionate, non-judgmental, and trauma-informed approach—combined with her ability to continuously tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs—has deeply influenced my own therapeutic lens.

She has encouraged me to look beyond traditional methods and to embrace creativity and decolonial practices, which has profoundly shifted how I understand the mental health field. I am so grateful for her guidance and support in laying the groundwork for my early development as a therapist, and for helping me move forward with clarity and intention.
