At this time, Journey Confluence is operating as a private-pay practice. My goal is to thoughtfully expand access to care without sacrificing the relational, individualized, and human-centered approach that Journey Confluence was created to provide. While I am actively exploring which insurance panels best align with the populations I serve, the credentialing process is often lengthy and can take several months to complete.
My intention is to begin contracting with select insurance providers by Winter 2026, though timelines are ultimately dependent upon each insurance company and cannot be guaranteed.
In the meantime, I am happy to provide monthly Superbills for clients who wish to pursue out-of-network reimbursement through their existing insurance plans. Many individuals are able to receive partial reimbursement for therapy services, though coverage and reimbursement rates vary by plan.
I recognize that accessibility and affordability matter. My hope is to continue expanding options for care while preserving the flexibility, privacy, and individualized approach that are central to the work we do together. As new insurance partnerships become available, updates will be shared here and with current clients.
-
Payment is due in full at the time of service. Journey Confluence accepts personal checks, debit cards, flexible spending account (FSA) cards, health savings account (HSA) cards, and all major credit cards.
For clients who wish to pursue out-of-network reimbursement, I can provide a monthly Superbill containing the information required for you to submit claims directly to your insurance company. While many clients successfully receive reimbursement, I cannot guarantee coverage or payment by your insurance provider.
Many individuals also choose to use funds available through their employer-sponsored FSA or HSA plans.
It is also important to know that there are circumstances in which using insurance may not be in your best interest. Insurance companies require the assignment of a mental health diagnosis and often determine medical necessity, which can influence the type, frequency, and duration of treatment available to you. Choosing private-pay therapy can offer greater privacy, flexibility, and autonomy over your care.

Yes. I reserve a limited number of sliding-scale spots for individuals facing financial barriers to care. I recognize that access to therapy is influenced by many factors beyond motivation or desire for support, and I strive to make services as accessible as possible within the realities of a small private practice.
These spots are limited and availability may vary. If cost is a concern, I encourage you to reach out so we can discuss current options and determine whether there may be a path forward together.
Experiential & Relational…

Our consultation call is an opportunity for us to briefly connect, discuss what brings you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and determine whether working together feels like the right next step. I believe goodness of fit matters deeply, and I never want anyone to feel pressured to move forward simply because they've reached out. My hope is that this process feels collaborative, transparent, and empowering, allowing both of us to begin our work together with clarity and confidence.
-
This first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and to understand your current concerns, gather some information about your history and experiences, discuss what brings you to therapy, and begin identifying goals for our work together. Just as importantly, it is an opportunity for you to ask questions, get a sense of my style, and decide whether this feels like a space where you can imagine yourself growing and healing.
And perhaps most importantly, there is no expectation that you share everything all at once. Building trust takes time, and you do not owe me your story before you feel ready to tell it. Our first session will rarely cover everything - how could it? I’m not under the impression that anyone could effectively condense their full life story into one hour. If you leave feeling like there were things you forgot to mention or questions you still have, that's completely okay. Therapy is a process, not a performance, and we can pick back up where we left off when you next come in.
Whether you choose to prepare extensively or simply show up as you are, my hope is that you experience our work together with curiosity, collaboration, and compassion. After all, this space exists for you.

Therapy with me tends to feel conversational, collaborative, and relational. I bring warmth, curiosity, and honesty into the room, and I value building a genuine connection with the people I work with. I will meet you with compassion, but I also won't shy away from difficult conversations or gently challenging patterns that may no longer serve you.
There is no expectation that you have the "right words" or that healing follows a linear path. Together, we can explore your experiences with curiosity, deepen your understanding of yourself and your relationships, and work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels sustainable.

While I certainly differ from the more stereotypical "blank slate" therapist often portrayed in media and do not practice from many of the formulaic approaches formally instructed in textbooks – I cannot claim that as unique to me. In fact, I have been fortunate to be continually shaped by many people, practices, and philosophies that have modeled to me that there are more human ways to do this work. I consider myself a mosaic of the people, places, practices, professionals and patients that I have had the pleasure of knowing, learning from, and being shaped by over the years.
As a result, my approach is relational, integrative, culturally & trauma-informed, blending depth-oriented exploration with practical interventions tailored to each person in front of me. Rather than reducing people to diagnoses, symptoms, or productivity-based definitions of wellness, I approach therapy through a lens of curiosity, context, and connection. Above all, I strive to create a space that feels collaborative, authentic, and humanizing – hoping that the imperfect human in me can call forward the imperfect human in you to allow for corrective experiences, starting with modeling permission to be authentically & unapologetically you.

Getting started is simple. You can reach out through the contact form on the website or by email to schedule a free 15 minute screening consultation.
This initial conversation gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and determine whether we feel like a good fit.
Finding the right therapist matters, and I want you to feel empowered to make the decision that feels best for you.

Not at all. Many people begin therapy without a clear agenda or without feeling that their struggles fit neatly into a diagnosis. You don't need to be in crisis or have everything figured out to benefit from therapy. Sometimes the work begins simply by creating space to slow down, make sense of your experiences, and reconnect with yourself. Wherever you are in your journey, we can start there.
It is important to know that in order for insurance companies to reimburse for therapy services, they generally require a mental health diagnosis and documentation demonstrating that treatment is considered “medically necessary.” While diagnoses can be helpful and meaningful for some people, they are not always the most accurate or beneficial way to understand the full complexity of a person's experiences.
Choosing to work outside of insurance can provide greater flexibility and privacy. It allows us to focus on your goals, values, and unique circumstances without being limited by insurance requirements, session restrictions, or the need to fit your experiences into a diagnostic framework. Whether you come to therapy with a specific concern or simply a sense that something feels difficult, therapy can be a space for reflection, growth, healing, and deeper self-understanding - not just symptom management.

My purpose in requiring consult calls before booking/holding a full hour-long intake appointment is to ensure that this space is a strong and mutually supportive match that fosters meaningful collaboration and the best possible outcomes.
I understand that searching for a therapist can feel vulnerable, overwhelming, and sometimes even discouraging. Therapist "shopping" is not only understandable - it is encouraged! Finding the right fit involves much more than simply identifying a therapist with the right credentials or specialty areas. It also includes personality, therapeutic style, goals, values, scheduling availability, fees, and other logistical considerations that help make therapy feel sustainable and accessible over time.
I don’t want either of us to feel obligated to ‘make it work’ for the sake of checking off the ‘go to therapy’ box - I want there to be an existing foundation for us to build from if you are going to commit your time, energy, money, and vulnerability.

I currently provide secure telehealth services to individuals throughout California.
As I prepare for several planned personal travel commitments this fall, I have intentionally chosen not to begin offering in-person appointments until I can do so consistently. This allows me to provide continuity of care without unnecessary interruptions during the start of our work together.
Beginning November 2026, I look forward to welcoming in-person clients at the HellaGood Therapy coworking office in Mission Hills, San Diego at 1111 Fort Stockton Drive, Suite #H, 92103

After completing your consult call and determining if we will begin working together and prior to your intake session - you'll be asked to review and sign some paperwork, including informed consent documents, privacy policies, practice procedures, communication boundaries, and cancellation policies so that we don’t have to spend any time on paperwork once you arrive.

Most therapy sessions are 50–55 minutes in length. Typically, I recommend that we start on a weekly basis in order to get to know each other and from there, work together to determine what meeting frequency feels most appropriate based on your needs, goals & schedule.
Extended sessions or additional appointments may be available when clinically appropriate and can be discussed together.
Please be aware that if you plan to use insurance benefits or submit Superbills for reimbursement, many insurance companies have more rigid parameters regarding session lengths, billing codes, and associated fees. While I strive to tailor care to the individual rather than the system, reimbursement eligibility may vary depending on your specific plan and the structure of our work together. I am always happy to discuss these considerations with you so that you can make informed decisions about your care.

Yes. Telehealth sessions are available for clients located anywhere in California. Virtual therapy allows for flexibility and accessibility while maintaining the same level of care and collaboration as in-person work. Depending on your location and preferences, in-person appointments may also be available.
Telehealth can provide flexibility when life throws a curveball. Maybe you're feeling mostly okay but don't want to risk spreading illness, you're caring for someone else, traveling, or you're stuck in traffic after a meeting ran long. Rather than losing the appointment altogether, virtual sessions can often provide a helpful alternative.
I simply ask that you let me know before your scheduled start time if you'd like to pivot to telehealth so I can send you a secure link and we can preserve as much of our time together as possible. In these cases, I also ask that you prepare by ensuring you are in a private space where you are less likely to be interrupted and have a good Wi-Fi connection. If you choose to join the meeting in your car, please do so while safely parked and not actively driving - for your safety, I will not hold the meeting if the car is in motion.
-
I ask that clients provide at least 24 business hours' notice if they need to cancel or reschedule an appointment - whether that’s by call, text, or email is up to you. Missed appointments and/or appointments canceled with less than 24 business hours' notice will be charged the full session fee. Please note that insurance companies do not reimburse for late cancellations or no-show fees.
Life happens, and I understand that plans occasionally change. Emergencies happen, too - if something urgent or unexpected arises, please take care of yourself, your loved ones, or whatever requires your attention. I simply ask that you let me know what is going on and/or of the change in plans, as soon as you are reasonably able to.
If late cancellations or missed appointments begin to become a pattern, we'll take some time to discuss whether our current schedule and level of care are working for you. Together, we may explore adjusting appointment days or times, changing the frequency of sessions, or revisiting your therapeutic goals and needs.
My intention is not to repeatedly charge you for appointments you are unable to attend, but rather to work collaboratively toward a plan that feels sustainable while also honoring the time set aside for your care and the ability to offer those appointment times to others seeking support.
